Yes on Prop. 5 for affordable housing

As a current high school student who is intensely community driven, I am deeply concerned about the issue of housing affordability in Palo Alto, particularly in light of Proposition 5. This measure would allow local government to approve bonds for affordable housing and public infrastructure with just 55% voter approval, with this approval our city could combat the housing affordability crisis.
Although Palo Alto is a place full of opportunity and innovation, the increasing cost of living creates barriers for numerous individuals including teachers, service workers, and young professionals. Prop. 5 would allow the City of Palo Alto to invest in affordable housing projects that ensures our community remains diverse and accessible.
As an individual unable to vote, I would like to spread awareness on the topic in order to show my support. For me, Prop. 5 is not just about housing, it is about fostering a community where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. I am urging my fellow Palo Alto residents to consider and take into account why Prop. 5 is so beneficial not only to our city, but to various other cities around California. Voting for Prop. 5 is a vote for a more equitable future.
