Just watched ” Cowspiracy: The Sustainability Secret”, a groundbreaking feature-length environmental documentary following filmmaker Kip Andersen as he uncovers the most destructive industry facing the planet today (animal agriculture) ? and investigates why the world’s leading environmental organizations are too afraid to talk about it. (That description is from the film’s website, and is pretty accurate.) Very powerful and very timely as California continues to suffer from the deadly drought. The amount of resources, including water, that go into producing hamburgers, steaks, veal etc. is staggering. And those “happy” cows that produce all that calf-growth-juice (that’s what cow’s milk is intended for) you put on your cereal and feed your kids, when their producing days are over they face a gruesome fate that wipes the smiles right off their faces. Watch this film and change your world.

If you don’t have Netflix you can watch it for $4.95 at http://www.cowspiracy.com/
